March 27 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Due to last month’s stormageddon we asked our speaker Genna Martin to reschedule, and she agreed! So this month we’re absolutely THRILLED to finally be hosting guest speaker Genna Martin, as she shares her tips and insight on how to document events using a photojournalistic approach!
Genna is a staff photographer at the Seattle PI (one of two), a board member for Society of Professional Journalists, she was awarded the 2015 New Journalist of the Year (from SPJ), also part of team that was awarded the national Sigma Delta Chi award for coverage of the Marysville-Pilchuck shooting. Whether you’re using a documentary approach for your own personal photos, or are documenting a local event, you’re sure to learn some great insights about how to tell your story in an effective and engaging way, even when you can’t art direct what’s happening around you! We hope you come join us for this fun evening with an amazingly talented photographer.
We will be on the second floor of the Seattle Film Institute, in the theater (the room at the end of the hall on the left). Street parking is available. Please RSVP to our Facebook event for headcount!
